Peggy, Rudi & William

  photos by William Claxton

The Total Look: The Creative Collaboration Between Rudi Gernreich, Peggy Moffitt, and William Claxton

They were ahead of their time. Creating art together as team and making the 60's an even wilder place to be. With Rudi's invention of the monokini, Peggy's striking looks and William Claxton's photography they created a look that is part of fashion history.

I was super interested in this exhibit as my husband used to work from time to time with the late William Claxton, and always raved about him & his work. Because of that I had the opportunity to met Peggy briefly a few years ago and she looks as striking now as she did in the 60's - she is a super interesting woman.  I was bummed to miss opening night on Friday but seeing the exhibit on Saturday morning made my weekend.

If you are in Los Angeles & have any interest in make-up, hair, fashion, design, modeling, or photography this is a show you don't want to miss.  MOCA Pacific Design Center through May 20, 2012. Admission is free.
