Gotta love Christina's laid back, cool girl, California style. She works with me when I come down to San Diego on shoots and she never fails to inspire me with her awesome mix of apparel, accessories and shoes.
We were shooting on a golf course so we had to wear sneakers, khaki's and shirts with collars - this is her take on that look and I love it! From the striped, velvety Zara coat, (forget it girls, she got it in Italy!) to the Current/Elliott cropped pants, all the way down to the Burberry slip-on's, and then the awesome tangled "surfer girl" hair, she is one rad chick.
She also designs clothes - so as soon as she whips up some new stuff I will let you know. One of my friends and I already have standing orders for a coat just like that one!
Felt like we had to see/experience it in person and not just via the TV news. Some people told us to be careful or not to go. Eye opener for sure. Tons of signs, art work and speech's. People from all walks of life, talking about all kinds of things. Hope these photos give you a better glimpse into what's happening.
And can we talk about the dude who looked right at me and said "rich people taste like chicken!" ?? Yeah, that part was a bit weird...
It's funny how surfing has gone so "mainstream". I remember when I was growing up and it was a "renegade" sport. On a side note, these photos remind me (color/style) of some of the original Elle Magazine shots from back in the day. Full circle.
