Vans Warped Tour 2011

Spent Wednesday at the Vans Warped Tour as one of the judges at the All Girl Skate Jam. The girls were ripping it up on the mini ramp, the sun was out, got to run into old friends like Tony Alva, listened to some music and took pictures of "interesting" people. Not a bad day!

*Forgot to mention that I lost over half of my shots from this day due to a software glitch. Anyone else ever have this happen? Argh!!!

I'm off to judge the women's "All Girl Skate Jam" contest today at The Vans Warped Tour here in LA. If you happen to be headed out there, make sure you stop by the vert ramp and say hi!  It's going to be a fun day with skating, music, food and friends.

Van's Warped Tour - Skateboarding

Got to help judge the womens skateboard event for the All Girl Skate Jam at the Van's Warped Tour this past Friday, along with fellow pro skateboarders, Laura Thornhill, Edie Robertson and Tony Jetton. 

Had a great time seeing the younger generation of girls skateboarding riding hard and having fun.

Off to The Vans Warped Tour to spend the day hanging out with my girls, Laura Thornhill and Edie Robertson. We were all pro skaters "back in the day" and were invited to judge the Masters Skate Contest today by the super cool Patty Segovia-Kraus who owns and runs the All Girl Skate Jam. Patty has done much for women's skateboarding it's insane.

The funny thing about all this is that Laura and Edie came up through the ranks right before me and we never met. I admired them in magazines, and even emulated them to some extent. I remember buying red Vans sneakers to be just like Laura when I first started skating and later I ended up being sponsored by Sims Skateboards just like Edie was. Our paths were so close, yet never crossed.

Well thank goodness for Facebook and skateboard reunions! I ended up meeting both of these rad girls in the past few years and its like we have known each other forever.

Its going to be a BFF kinda day and totally rad - I can't wait!
