Gold Obsession

 images via tumblr

I have an event to go to this week and have my outfit planned out head to toe already (more on that later)  but the last piece to make it 100% rad is a gold sequin clutch. I knew I should have snagged the Zara one months ago when I had it in my hands, but it was one of those stupid moments where you tell yourself "I don't really need this.." How wrong I was. Now I am scrambling to find one. I'll let you know how that goes...

Don't you hate it when the annoying little voice in your head talks you out of something?

Think Pink

Planet Blue rocking it again with a new lookbook. Love these peeps.
Thinking about adding those streaks (temporarily) to my hair... hmm.

Over The Edge

Phlox's python skateboard

This is how you know skateboarding has become a huge "trend". And it's not good.
When people make a python skateboard for $1,700 it's just insanity.

Surf & Be Happy. It's That Simple.

photos courtesy of Seea

I've lived at the beach my whole life and not much surprises me when it comes to women's surfing whether it be wetsuits or swimsuits. But when I stumbled across this awesome new line SEEA, I was stunned. The retro styling, the attention to fabric & fit, as well as the cool print patterns, had me in a second. So of course I reached out to find out more as I knew that besides the cool swimwear/surf wear, there had to be another story here...

Turns out that founder and designer Amanda is another bad ass girl you want to know. She grew up in the surf & skateboard world and combined those loves with fashion to come up with Seea. I also love that she is part of what she calls the "slow movement" and that all the suits are made here in sunny California. The Seea hang tags are done via letterpress and have a vintage hand crafted feel. Every aspect of this line is super cool from start to finish.

Check out the line, see more cool girls surfing (as if the shots above aren't making you crave summer right?) , read about Amanda and find out where to get a suit for yourself HERE

Bad Ass, Baby

If you are not familiar with the Italian line Sandro, it's like Isabel Marant & Rick Owens got wild one night and had a baby. And that baby is totally bad ass!

French brand Sandro (and it's sister line the gorgeous Maje) have come to LA and opened up shop inside select Bloomingdales.  I stumbled upon this awesome discovery while I was roaming around today. Pretty good find for a Monday.
Those sneakers are going on every shoot with me. LOVE THEM.

More Skulls

Got on a little skull kick. Had a big shoot on Wednesday at Smashbox Studios and the skull scarf and the all gray ensemble just felt right.
A mix of rock & roll x bad ass. Perfect.

Raquel Allegra shredded tee, Zara jeans, generic skull scarf (although it does screams Alexander McQueen),
Ella Moss sweater, Splendid tank top, Beth Orduna necklace, Chan Luu bracelets, Tom Binns bracelet, Atelier Minyon skull ring.

Reckless Sunday

A "It's Not About Pretty" Production
Skating & styling - Cindy Whitehead
Film By - Ian Logan

Sometimes I get bored when I have a day off and come up with weird shit I want to do. Luckily Ian will pretty much
go along with anything and agreed to find some great locations & film me for this video that involves Fashion x Skate.
 It's called RECKLESS SUNDAY.

And yeah, that's the Thomas Wylde skull caftan & The Row black leather leggings I am wearing to skate in -
like I always say - street + fashion + sport is all one in my book.

Let me know what you think.

On Repeat

I thought I'd try out this rad tunic I got from Planet Blue a few weeks ago. Loved it so much I wore it to the Surf Fest night here in Hermosa Beach and to the Planet Blue x Foam party on Sunday in in Palm Springs. Yeah, I was totally a repeat offender. Don't tell anyone.

In Plain Sight

photos via gillian zinser

Funny thing about appearances - they can be deceiving. I think just about everyone at the Planet Blue x Foam Magazine party walked right by Gillian Zinser even though she was hosting the event. Yeah, we always think of her as the surfer looking girl, but Sunday she was sporting darker hair and red lips and I am sure most people (including me) never even realized it was her. Good for you Gillian - always keeping it fresh. Love that.

Planet Blue x Foam Magazine Party

photos Cindy Whitehead & Ian Logan

Not a bad Sunday. Did a little road trip this morning to the Alcazar Hotel in Palm Springs for the Planet Blue x Foam Magazine party. After the rain we had leading up to Coachella, today turned out to be gorgeous, sunny, & 80 degrees. Got to relax by the pool, listen to some great music, suck down a couple limeade type drinks with some ultra smooth Preligroso Tequila in it (how I ended up drinking two, I have no idea) see some awesome "Coachella" looks going on, & hang out with good friends. Pretty much a perfect day.

Thanks to the girls at Planet Blue, Foam Magazine & Bollare PR for the invite!
