Sporty Inspiration

When I start feeling a chill in the air I know it's time to start breaking out all my favorite cooler weather pieces and pile them on. Any black down jacket that will smush into a small ball works for me and a gray hoodie is a no brainier. I'm all about a pair of black leggings that can be worn to the gym (ones made for working out usually last longer and feel better on than other types) and also be paired with boots for a night out - especially handy when you travel a lot like I do.  Sometimes it's good to add a pop of color where you least expect it, in this case, a sports bra that will lightly show through that white tee. And there is nothing like  wearing bad ass sunglasses, some retro sneakers and a beanie to edge things up a bit.

Had quite the adventure today trying to track down the YSL Manifesto girls in Venice and Santa Monica. In case you don't know about this - YSL distributes the Manifesto Book and limited edition YSL tote (free) in various places through out New York, Paris, London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Milan, but this is the first time LA has been part of it, so I was very excited! 

We cruised up and down Abbot Kinney for well over an hour before they arrived and we spotted them, but it was well worth it!  I am sure they probably thought I was a total freak when I sprung out of the car while screaming  "Manifesto Girls!!".  But they were gracious enough to pose for a photo - which they of course all look gorgeous in.

We then were heading to lunch and we spotted the second group of YSL girls over on Main Street in Santa Monica so I had to stop and bombard them again - I think I was the only person in the beach area today who knew what was going on and was super excited about it.

I heard on twitter that Robertson and Hollywood Blvd were busy with people looking for them but Venice and Santa Monica just didn't seem that crazy... except for me..

Another one of my fav lines, EVER opened up a pop up shop in Venice which spells T.R.O.U.B.L.E. for me. I practically live in the broken in jeans, tank tops and sweaters year round. 

I stopped in the other weekend right after they opened and scored my new fav summer denim shorts, a super soft lightweight sweater and a tank top that looks and feels like I have had it for years.

I passed on the surfer looking striped pullover and now may be regretting it...

What do you guys think - should I track it down?? UPDATE!  Found it and LOVE it!

Stumbled across the 291 sample sale Saturday morning 

while we were driving to have lunch in Venice - so glad I did!
