Stella x Adidas 2012 Olympics

It's the first time Great Britain has had a designer create their Olympic uniforms and Stella McCartney won the honor. The question is, will you be watching the 2012 Olympics to see who gets gold, or to see the designer apparel in action? In my case it will be both.

I was out in Greensboro, Georgia all last week styling pro golfers, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Natalie Gulbis, Paula Creamer & Jessica Corda for a big TaylorMade/Adidas golf shoot. It's a rad crew of people I have had the pleasure of working with for almost 14 years now!

We always have an amazing time - we work hard and play hard, and Georgia is absoluetly beautiful (but so humid!) this time of year. The 3 of us girls - Renee, who does hair & make-up, myself and Stefanie, my LA assistant stay in a house by the lake & we have the best time hanging out together at night after the shoot day is done. 


We experienced everything from a lightning & hail storm (so weird when it's that hot!), to fried macaroni & cheese at lunch, to learning that if you say "bless her heart" it really means something negative (like "what an idiot"), that you have to buy  liquor at a state liquor store (not the grocery store like in LA) and that they are closed on Sundays, that southern hospitality is alive and well and  gentlemen always open doors for the ladies. Gotta love the south!

Sporty Inspiration

When I start feeling a chill in the air I know it's time to start breaking out all my favorite cooler weather pieces and pile them on. Any black down jacket that will smush into a small ball works for me and a gray hoodie is a no brainier. I'm all about a pair of black leggings that can be worn to the gym (ones made for working out usually last longer and feel better on than other types) and also be paired with boots for a night out - especially handy when you travel a lot like I do.  Sometimes it's good to add a pop of color where you least expect it, in this case, a sports bra that will lightly show through that white tee. And there is nothing like  wearing bad ass sunglasses, some retro sneakers and a beanie to edge things up a bit.

Sporty Inspiration

I've always thought that the most stylish girl at the gym was the one whose look was street inspired/workout rather than a full on typical "gym look". I am a huge fan of layering the shit out of your outfit and mixing what you already have in your "everyday" closet with your workout wear (and this goes both ways). I also firmly believe that adding an awesome pop of color makes that 6 mile run on the treadmill go a bit faster. At least in my twisted little mind it does.

Great Bags For The Gym And Beyond
