Life is Beautiful / Mr. Brainwash Art Show

Photos by Cindy Whitehead & Ian Logan

Made it over to the "Life is Beautiful" art show by well known street artist, Thierry Guetta, aka Mr. Brainwash today. If you saw Banksy's "Exit Through the Gift Shop" then you know who Mr. Brainwash is. This show was 80,000 square feet of pure street art and I left there totally inspired. In fact I could go back again as I am sure I missed a ton of stuff - there was cool art everywhere.

And yes, that is a very blurry picture of me with Mr. Brainwash. Stoked to have met him - he was there for a nano second and I grabbed him to chat. Did you really think I wouldn't?

I saw this on the sidewalk near the gallery opening at Royal T the other night, so I had to shoot it. Love.

Dreams Are Made Of This

Just got this rad print from talented artist Kelli Murray on Etsy. I absolutely love it. She is so insanely talented I want everything in her Etsy store! Now I have to find a cool place in my new home office for it..

Art Is Alive And Well

Not sure why it took me so long to post these...

It was my first time at the Renegade Craft Fair near downtown Los Angeles a couple weekends ago and I have to say I saw some seriously great stuff.

Nice to know that independant artists of all types are still out there, regardless of the recession, making art.

Erica Weiner - one of my favorite jewelry lines on Bona Drag website
Nice to see it all in person

This guy had the raddest card line
in fact if I showed you the pins that were in the  bowl in photo below
I know I'd be banned from blogspot again... (they were THAT good!)

I really love the tee's by Love Nail Tree - super innovative

Finally got to meet Vera from Verameat Jewelry.
I love her line - the "Vampire Luck" necklace is brilliant.

Skateboarding + Art

Usually pools drained and meant for skateboarding are a solid color. No one ever takes the time to paint them with groovy designs. Love that they did that here.

Hidden Worlds

We went to a wonderful art gallery show the other night in downtown Los Angeles. Susan Hazeltine Connell had her latest work displayed and the pieces are so fresh and different I really loved them. I had seen some of them before in her home but to see them all together in a gallery setting where I could really look and study each one was amazing.

Painted in white on linen, the images draw you into a world where there is so much more going on then just the original image you "thought" you saw.

Simply beautiful.
